Property:

Colorless oily liquid, with pungent and unpleasant odor. It is miscible with water, ethanol and ether.

Usage:

1. Used to eliminate the effect of iron, also used as extractant, decalcification agent. 

2. For the preparation of spices, medicines and other organic chemicals.

3. Used for deashing of leather.

4. Butyric acid is a food spice allowed to be used in China, which is often used to enhance the flavor of butter, cheese and fruit flavors.

5. Butyric acid is also widely used in the manufacture of varnish and molding powder.

6. Butyric acid is used to manufacture cellulose acetate, which can be mixed with a variety of resins, and is mostly used for mixing paint, silk and cotton.
