Property:

White or white fine crystalline powder, with a slight mercaptan odor.

Usage:

1. Used as a diuretic.

2. It is a synthetic 17-lactone steroid, which is a nephrocompetitive aldosterone antagonist and belongs to the class of potassium-conserving diuretics, mainly used in the treatment of liver disease, low renin hypertension and low potassium.

3. Active metabolites of lactone (anstrosulactone). Inhibiting aldosterone biosynthesis. For use as a blocker of the Wabain effect.

4. An inefficient diuretic that is structurally similar to aldosterone and is a competitive inhibitor of aldosterone.
