Property:

White crystalline powder. Its aqueous solution is unstable and belongs to strong reducing agent. Exposure to the air is easy to absorb oxygen and oxidation, but also easy to absorb moisture heat and deterioration, and can seize the oxygen in the air caking and emit irritating sour taste.

Usage:

1. It is widely used in the textile industry for reducing dyeing, reduction cleaning, printing and decolorization and bleaching of silk, wool, nylon and other fabrics.

2. It can also be used for food bleaching, such as gelatin, sucrose, preserves, soap, animal (plant) oil, bamboo, China clay bleaching and so on.

3. It can also be used as a reducing agent or bleach in organic synthesis, such as the production of dyes and pharmaceuticals.

4. Sodium disulfite is the most suitable bleach for wood pulp papermaking.
